Magdalena Hirsz

A Polish pianist with Asian roots, she enchants audiences with her musicality and sensitivity. She has performed at numerous international festivals, including Septembre Musical, the Warsaw Winter PianoFestival, the Piano Marathon in Evian, Tel Aviv Art Festival, the Belém Piano Encounters in Brazil, and the Havana Classic Music Festival in Cuba. She has also taken part in numerous interactive projects, notably with the Béjart Ballet and the poet David Walters. Magdalena studied at the conservatories of Geneva, Warsaw, Vienna and Lodz. Her repertoire includes an eclectic mix of classical and contemporary music. She has recorded two solo albums, including one with R. Schumann and an album entitled "Sounds of Mind". She has taken part in masterclasses given by T. Chebanova, L. Naumov and A. Schiff. 

She plays with various orchestras in Israel, Poland and Vietnam. She regularly performs as a soloist, duo or trio, notably with Martha Argerich and Akiko Ebi for four hands.

At the same time, the pianist is developing her career as a teacher: she has taught piano and chamber music at the F. Chopin Conservatoire in Warsaw, at the Institut International de Lancy in Geneva, at the St. George School in Montreux and now at the Institut F. Chopin in Switzerland, of which she is president.
